S.T.A.L.K.E.R. "Bear" Detector Fanart

Привіт сталкери! The STALKER series are some of my favorite games, and have had a huge impact on me as a developer. I decided to make some fancy models for a mod, and this is one of them. As usual, I started this a long time ago - before I textured it a few days ago, the last time I touched it was in April 2021! The sequel's impending release made me decide to kick it into high gear, so I could finish it before seeing what they came up with (I've been avoiding any and all trailers, screenshots, etc). The lowest-tier Echo detector is coming next, once I finish making all of the internal circuitry.

I decided to change the design from a metal brick to an injection molded plastic case. The in-game description says it has a diode display, but I felt like an EL panel made more sense. I'm not sure if the original model has a twisted wire cover, or if it's just the low texture resolution mixed with alpha-test, but I thought it looked cool. The ad itself doesn't make a whole lot of sense, since this is scientific equipment the general public wouldn't have access too, but again I thought it looked cool.

The model itself is a standard game-res model with PBR materials, but I rendered it in cycles because it stands on its own here. Look forward to a nice little scene in an actual game engine soon*
